Lamplight Tours of Sovereign Hill
Discover the myths, stories and legends of the Goldfields, as Sovereign Hill launch their new Lamplight Tours, giving visitors a rare glimpse into Sovereign Hill after dark.
The Lamplight Tours will run every Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening, as well as every day during school holiday periods, and will allow visitors to explore the dimly-lit streets, cottages, laneways and buildings of the outdoor museum, all under the glow of lamplight.
Led by costumed Sovereign Hill guides, visitors will learn about the characters that lived in the goldfields, the illnesses, accidents and deaths that gripped them, and even encounter tales of the strange and abnormal.
Starting at a cosy hotel bar in Main Street before venturing into the night to visit some very intriguing places and characters, the Lamplight Tours will run for 60 minutes, twice each evening.
